The front wheel of a two wheeler needs to be held in suspension to rotate; this is where the scooter fork comes to stay to maintain this suspension perfectly well. The telescopic front fork is famous for this type of operation. The fork is fitted with a pair of front leg like structures arranged on the opposite side of the front wheel. The upper portion of the fork is attached to the steering assembly of the vehicle. The lower end of the fork supports the front wheel between the two legs.

With this assembly fitted firmly the wheel is allowed a free rotating movement while the steering has the control of the wheel with the help of the fork. Since the fork is the main part that encounters bumps and rough drives, it needs to be strong especially where the fork joins the steering and also where it is attached to the front wheel.
