Riding scooters can be real fun, especially when the climatic conditions are favorable.  Scooters can be two wheelers or three or even four wheelers, but the best and easiest model is the two wheeler scooter which does not need much parking space and is easy to maneuver in busy areas.

Scooters today come in an array of styles, designs and colors that attract a lot of scooter lovers in the city.  Some of them are so light that they could be packed into a vehicle and carried.  Scooter models like Vespa, Piaggio, Gilera, Kymco are good brands to consider when looking for scooters.

City scooters are meant for short distance travel hence a lighter model that would be less expensive but less comfortable can be selected.  However, is one requires to have a scooter to cover long distances a more stable and comfortable model should be selected that would provide the required comfort for long distance travel.

The benefits of having a scooter are quite a few but good.  The main benefit is a saving on fuel costs.  A scooter surely does not need much fuel as a four wheeler vehicle would need.  One can opt for electric scooter as well which cuts on the gasoline expense even more.

One should keep in mind that an inner city scooter which would definitely be a smaller type, does not provide much horsepower.  On the other hand larger scooters reach up to a horsepower of 600cc.  Price is another factor that could hinder an individual’s ability to own a 600cc scooter.  If one settles for a smaller scooter with lesser horsepower, the minimum price could be something like $2000.  But if one is looking for a larger one then $10,000 should be set aside.

Almost all scooters are designed to carry a minimum of two passengers together with a few work related items or ideal for students who would carry some books, laptops etc.  A scooter is the right choice for students and workers who travel within the city limits.  It not only saves time and fuel it is easy to handle and requires lesser parking space.

It is economic to have a city scooter but the problem of being exposed without a proper cover while riding needs to be taken into consideration.  It is even hazardous when involved in an accident since there is no exterior protection for the rider and the pillion rider as well.  Save riding is required especially when riding within the city limits.
