Explore The Outdoors With A 4 Wheel Street Scooter
A street scooter is not meant for kids and serves a very different purpose from that of a two wheeled scooter, moped or motorcycle. For the millions of people worldwide who have mobility issues, having the freedom to move around freely outdoors is a luxury. The elderly or anyone suffering from debilitating conditions such as arthritis can find themselves virtually confined to their homes. Walking any distance is simply too tiring or painful. And, for anyone unsteady on their feet, the fear of falling is a constant worry. A 4 wheel street scooter can change someone’s life; giving them a renewed sense of independence and freedom along with a better quality of life.
There are two types of mobility scooter on the market; 3 wheel scooters and 4 wheel scooters. Each is designed for a different type of use. Both are usually powered by rechargeable batteries. The electric scooter has virtually replaced the older gas powered scooters, which are no longer legal in some countries.
A three wheel scooter is primarily intended for indoor use. It is highly maneuverable, able to navigate around furniture easily and turn in tight spaces. This feature comes at the cost of stability and these scooters do not perform well over uneven surfaces. They are generally smaller and lighter than the four wheel type and not able to support as much weight.
The four wheel scooter is ideal for outdoor use as it is designed for stability and balance. It performs well on uneven outdoor surfaces; sidewalks, roads and curbs. Some models are designed for off-road use and are able to handle rough terrain. A four wheel scooter is generally bigger and heavier than three wheeled models and requires a much larger turning radius. In many countries it is legal to operate these scooters on roads. There are many makes and models of four wheel scooters available. At one end of the spectrum are travel scooters, intended for people to take along on trips or vacation. The smallest and lightest of the four wheel scooters, they fit easily in the trunk of a car and can accompany you on a plane as part of your luggage. They can be disassembled and reassembled easily. Some models weigh less than 100 pounds. On the other end of the spectrum are the heavy duty scooters; rugged and durable scooters that can handle almost any terrain. The largest and heaviest scooters, they usually have a wider wheel base, oversize tires, bigger batteries and many other upgraded features. This is the only type of scooter that is able to accommodate people over 5’ 11’ and/or 300 lbs. Some models can support up to 500 lbs. A 4 wheel street scooter is an investment that can enrich your life. When shopping for an electric four wheel scooter there are several features you should look for before you buy. The scooter should be collapsible for easy storage and transportation. The seat should comfortable and adjustable with good back support. The battery should be a long-life model that is able to give you 18–20 miles of driving between charges.
